Text encoding & line endings User guide
Convert text encodings, BOM and line endings.
Instructions
- Choose the source encoding before loading a file, or type text directly.
- Select UTF-8, UTF-16 LE/BE or CP949 output, line-ending handling and BOM where supported.
- Convert, verify the decoded preview and save TXT.
Example
Input / settings
UTF-8 → CP949 · LF → CRLF
Result / checks
CP949 text with CRLF
Please note
TXT
- CP949 cannot represent every Unicode character. Unrepresentable characters and invalid input bytes cause an error rather than silent replacement.
- UTF-16 LE/BE have different byte orders. A BOM marks encoding at the start of a file and is not used for CP949.
- Files and entered content are processed in this browser. Save results before closing the page.
